Bellevue, Wash. -- June 24, 2004 -- Ascentis Corporation announces its newest partnership with Santéon, Inc. Ascentis will utilize Santéons XIP technology to provide clearinghouse" services for electronic transmission of all benefits related data from HROffice to insurance carriers and back.

With the passing of the 1996 HIPAA Act, all medical, dental, and vision insurance carriers are required to have the ability to receive enrollment data electronically. Mike Hayes, vice president of sales and marketing at Ascentis Corporation says, Ascentis can now offer carrier connectivity services to all its clients, both in-house and hosted. This new connectivity will increase customers accuracy of information, vastly reduce paperwork, and ultimately decrease time and costs associated with benefits administration. HROffice Carrier Connect Technology and Service is the first of its kind for both in-house and hosted HROffice implementations."

Like HROffice, Santéon's technology is built upon Microsoft .Net. It includes a complete platform for routing, transformation, and delivery of documents to insurance carriers. Through HROffice Employee Self-Service, employees make their benefit elections and changes to their personal information online. HROffice Carrier Connect safely passes the data to the clearinghouse service which securely delivers the information to both HIPAA and non-HIPAA insurance carriers.

Ash Rofail, CTO and Founder of Santéon, states, Our robust eXtensible Integration Platform (XIP) further enhances the services offered by Ascentis while still delivering the ease-of-use, reliability and value to which Ascentis customers have become accustomed. With its predefined HIPAA definition templates, adaptable workflow engine, innovative Human Interaction functionality, and robust customization tools, XIP offers a perfect platform for rapid and cost effective deployment of clearinghouse capabilities."

Ascentis will showcase HROffices carrier connectivity at the upcoming annual Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) conference in New Orleans this month from June 27-29, 2004. Visit Ascentis in booth number 2250.
