The William J. Clinton Foundation Launches an interactive and educational platform providing global access to the historical records of President Clinton's administration and real-time information about his ongoing work.

The Clinton Presidential Center (CPC) Web site, www.clintonpresidentialcenter.org, brings to life former President Bill Clintons idea that "in the new economy, information, education and motivation is everything." The Web site is designed to leverage the full power of the Internet and interactive technology to bring people together to learn about the work of the Clinton Administration and the William J. Clinton Presidential Center, which works to fight AIDS around the world; promote citizen service; religious, racial and ethnic reconciliation; and economically empower the poor.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) June 27, 2004 -- The www.ClintonPresidentialCenter.org site is launching 150 days prior to the physical Presidential Center and Library in Little Rock and will serve as a resource for people to learn about the work of the Center, which includes the Library, the Clinton School of Public Service and the Foundation. Through the most comprehensive database of Presidential archives - 20,000 publicly-released documents with more than 400 categories and 125,000 entries- organized by subject, category and key word - people will be able to get an in-depth overview of many topics, learn about the achievements of the Clinton Administration, how the roots of policy began and how the past affects the future. The extensive collection of video, audio clips and pictures allows visitors to hear and view important speeches, and to browse hundreds of photographs rapidly in an interactive timeline viewer.

Visitors to the site are provided with additional context on todays key issues through the informational articles that have been uniquely and topically integrated into the Web site. These informational materials, created by HowStuffWorks, explain in easy-to-understand language the basic information on important topics such as how governments work, how the Federal Reserve System works, how foreign policy is crafted, how to pay for college, how to protect the environment and many more topics affecting peoples lives every day.

"We wanted our Web site to complement the extraordinary physical structure in Little Rock and to eventually become an integrated component of all of the Foundations activities, increasing our accessibility to the vast universe of over 729 million Internet users worldwide," said President Clinton. "I look forward to devoting a substantial amount of time and energy in building and interacting with this online community as one way to create shared goals, values and responsibilities."

The CPC Web sites interactive platform plans offer what no other presidential library site currently does by providing real time connections with President Clinton through surveys, instant messaging, virtual town hall meetings, virtual classrooms, Internet addresses, and question and answer sessions.

"A year and a half ago, I spoke with President Clinton on how to take full advantage of the Internet to create a presidential library without borders that ultimately could become an interactive platform for all of his ongoing work," said Jeff Arnold, founder of The Convex Group Inc. and WebMD. "Working in collaboration with the President and his team, we have completed the first phase by developing the interactive, multimedia and educational content, enabling people to search the historical archives to understand the past, learn about current issues and be able to take action. Future site development will incorporate cutting-edge technology helping President Clinton to establish one-to-one communication with people around the world and further globalization of the site."

The site complements the Presidential Center and Library in Little Rock. Visitors to www.clintonpresidentialcenter.org will be able to hear President Clintons vision for the center, monitor the final stages of construction, see the build-out of the exhibits, find out how the architects and exhibit planners shaped their designs and participate online in upcoming events, including the grand opening of the facility in November 2004.

Only on the CPC website can people sign up to receive an autographed copy of President Clintons memoirs, My Life, while helping to support the important work of the Foundation around the world. The book donation package includes a bookmark, a special DVD featuring President Clinton, and a personal greeting from President Clinton. This unique package will be available to the first people to register for the package at www.clintonpresidentialcenter.org.
