He has had extensive experience with agents and publishing houses and has been a member of The Authors Guild, PEN, and the National Writers Union since the 1980s.

His most recent book is the highly acclaimed "Eternal Treblinka: Our Treatment of Animals and the Holocaust," published by Lantern Books, New York in 2002 and now translated into five European languages (German, Italian, Polish, Croatian, and Czech). Publishers in Spain, France, The Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Israel, and India are also reviewing the book for possible publication.

Dr. Patterson has had extensive experience working with writers of non-fiction, fiction, and memoirs (as well as short stories, essays, articles, reviews, theses, and dissertations).
