Frank DeFilippi Union Organizer, Representative www.frankdefilippi.com Speaks Out About Taft Hartley Fund Administrative Costs and the Impact on Plan Participants

An arbitrator recently ruled in favor of employer trustees motion to close down a fund office in favor of a third party administrator.

New York City, NY (PRWEB) July 12, 2004 -- Ironworkers Local 455 welfare fund office has been given to a third party administrator, closing down the funds office and dislocating its retiree club.

Participants will now be required to interface with the D H Cook company.

The union trustees were against this move as, in effect, it will be more expensive with the third party administrator than it would be by continuing the current office.

As there are many leases in place, now they must be canceled including the lease on its building.

Currently the Union Trustees are in negotiations with the D H Cook company over the impact of the arbitrator Howard Edelman's ruling.
