Robin Horwitz, the new team owner, is a track suprevisor at the Hellyer Velodrome and the owner of ASL Bridge Interpreting Services and ThresholdPower.com, a company that coordinates cycling camps, clinics and racing events. The team is also changing its name to Hawk Relay Cycling Team, named for new sponsor. Hawk Relay provides relay services to the deaf and hard of hearing communities, providing video access for people with sign language skills. "Today is a terrific day for the team and for USA cycling as it sets its sight on the 2012 London Olympics. The Hawk Relay Cycling Team is committed to developing our current team and future stars for the 2012 Olympics and beyond." stated Robin Horwitz, the new team owner. The team's previous owner, Dr. Howard Marans, will remain on the team as an Assistant Team Director. Currently the Hawk Relay Cycling Team consists of Adam Duvendeck, consistently the USA's fastest sprinter over the 2008 World Cup season; Travis Smith, a Commonwealth Games bronze medalist; Jennie Reed, the world champion in women's keirin and Josiah Ng, a 8 time World Cup medalist. The Hawk Relay Cycling Team also has a development squad which includes Jimmy Watkins, a heavy favorite for the men's elite kilo nationals title, and Jesse Marans, a promising juniors rider out of Orange County, CA. There will be a masters team, for which the roster will be announced at a later date. The coaching staff will be assembled in time for the team's showing at the World Cup Race in Cali, Colombia, but will include Hunter Allen, CEO of Peaks Coaching Group and owner of CyclingPeaks Software. Dr. Marcus Elliott of p3 will be partnering up with Hawk Relay Cycling Team focusing on scientific methods of strength development.
