Comic-Con International Announces Film Festival Lineup SAN DIEGO - The Comic-Con International: Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF) has announced its lineup for the July 22 --25 event. SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) June 30, 2004 -- - The Comic-Con International: Independent Film Festival (CCI-IFF) has announced its lineup for the July 22 --25 event.
Highlighting genre related material; animation, super-heroes, science fiction & fantasy, and pop culture-oriented projects, the CCI-IFF is a non-juried festival, which coincides with the largest comic book and pop culture event in the United States; Comic-Con International.
Comic-Con International has had a long association with film," says David Glanzer, spokesperson for the non-profit event. From Frank Capras visit in the early '70s to the visit by Francis Ford Coppola in 1992, to Angelina Jolie, Ben Affleck and others more recently." Over 45 features, shorts and documentaries will screen as part of the four-day event, which utilizes the entire convention center in San Diego California. And each film will include a member of the production company on hand to discuss their project and answer questions from the audience.
In addition to the film festival, Comic-Con International will hold a variety of seminars on various aspects of filmmaking, including the first Comic-Con International Film School. This Film School features daily panels and seminars focusing on nuts-and-bolts issues for the novice filmmaker.

Comic-Con International hosts the largest gathering of professionals from industries as diverse as comic books, literature, film, television, interactive multimedia and fine art. Over 10,000 industry professionals attended the 2003 show.
Comic-Con International is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to creating awareness of, and appreciation for, comics and related popular art forms, primarily through the presentation of conventions and events that celebrate the historic and ongoing contribution of comics to art and culture.
