Author Donates Royalties to The Myelin Project

Film critic Betty Jo Tucker, author of SUSAN SARANDON: A TRUE MAVERICK, recently assigned her author's royalties to The Myelin Project, an international medical research group.

Pueblo, CO (PRWEB) June 30, 2004 -- Film critic Betty Jo Tucker recently assigned her author's royalties for her new book, SUSAN SARANDON: A TRUE MAVERICK, to The Myelin Project. While doing research for this book, I became impressed with the tremendous work being done by this medical research group and wanted to do something to help," Tucker explained.

SUSAN SARANDON: A TRUE MAVERICK, an in-depth look at Sarandons extraordinary movie career, includes an entire chapter about The Myelin Project and Sarandons involvement as spokesperson for the organization after appearing in "Lorenzos Oil." Sarandon co-starred with Nick Nolte in this powerful true-life film about parents who refused to give up when doctors told them there was no hope for their ailing son. My admiration for Augusto and Michaela Odone knows no bounds," Tucker declares.

Co-founded by the Odones, The Myelin Project (www.myelin.org) supports research concerning debilitating diseases brought about by destruction of myelin, the white matter encasing the nerves. Diseases like this result in loss of control over body functions and affect approximately one million people in the industrialized world alone.

Tucker writes movie-related commentary for The Colorado Senior Beacon and serves as the lead film critic for ReelTalk Movie Reviews (www.reeltalkreviews.com) and for News First Online (www.koaa.com). She is also the author of CONFESSIONS OF A MOVIE ADDICT, a humorous life story with everything but the movie stuff edited out."

Published by Hats Off Books, SUSAN SARANDON: A TRUE MAVERICK is available at Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com, Wheatmark.com and by special order at most bookstores.
