Concerned Exeter and West Greenwich Citizens Speak Out Against Senator Breene Citizens Groups want Senator Breene out of office for failing to request or listen to his constituent's concerns. They shared with Dr. Sheeler, Rhode Island Candidate for State Senate District 34, their concerns Breene has not fulfilled his promises and his acts have harmed public services and education. West Greenwich, RI (PRWEB) July 1, 2004 -- Dr. Carl L. Sheeler, a West Greenwich, resident and District 34 State Senate Candidate met with about 20 individuals from Exeter and West Greenwich on Monday evening and Tuesday morning to discuss their concerns over the issues of how they feel town council officials and Senator Breene were failing them.
Many expressed dissatisfaction surrounding unfunded mandates impacting the school budget and group homes housing the emotionally and mentally challenged. They indicated promises were made by Breene and Carceri to provide aid that never materialized and has lead to legal disputes and delay tactics.
Captain Gregory Hitchcock of the Mishnock/West Greenwich Fire Department was concerned about the back door" deals by the all Republican West Greenwich Town Council that allowed Breenes decisions that were detrimental to West Greenwichs citizens. This included softening fire code recommendations involving Amgen and removing the Mishnock Fire Department from being the primarily stationhouse.
He also indicated Mr. Breene refused the West Greenwich police department new firearms and had offered used ones instead. This resulted in the appropriate Unions footing the bill for the officers and public safety. Captain Hitchcock has indicated his intention to be a candidate for the West Greenwich town council and feels he can be a voice for and with the people" regardless of their party affiliation. He agrees with Dr. Sheelers platform (See website at www.Sheeler4RISenate.com ). ###
