Inventa Partners have appointed Rea-TMA Marketing to promote its capability to transfer advanced military and aerospace technology to major project applications in the UK construction industry. Inventa's European technology partners - which include QinetiQ and the Fraunhofer Institute - have a resource of £60 billion of research funding and 30,000 scientists.

"Inventa Partners selected Rea-TMA because of its ability to interpret and effectively communicate often complex technology issues through a range of media to the construction, engineering and science sectors," says Gideon Davenport, director of Inventa Partners.

Rea-TMA of London and Bournemouth has developed strategic plans and implemented campaigns for clients that include Penny Streeter, CBI Entrepreneur of the Year, who has achieved annual growth in excess of 120 per cent for recruitment business Ambition 24 hours every year since it was founded. The marketing agency are the developers of 'sales process engineering', which is used by client companies to align sales and marketing teams and activity and develop targeted campaigns.

Inventa helps UK companies to identify and develop new strategic business opportunities by resolving the critical obstacles to major technological innovation in their manufacturing processes, materials and finished products. It offers a knowledge base of technology that is often five to ten years ahead of the construction industry’s prevailing state of the art, the company says.

Current technology projects, valued at over £200 million , include energy conservation for building structures using advanced coatings developed for the aerospace sector; materials for water conservation in building services that mimic the properties of the shell of the Namibian desert beetle; and a detection system for underground services and obstructions that employs the military’s latest mine clearance technology.

Inventa clients include the £1.5billion Elephant & Castle urban redevelopment project. The brief is to support the sustainable regeneration of Elephant & Castle through the design of renewable energy and alternative sources of water supply; the delivery of energy and environmental services to residents and businesses; climate responsive architecture and urban design; on-site generation of heat and power; and community heating and power infrastructure.
