Cartridge Heads Give Us the Rap and a Video on Ink Prices

West Midlands hip hop duo Cartridge Heads launch a rap video protesting about the true cost of printer ink.

Kidderminster, Shropshire (PRWEB) September 26, 2008 -- Think you're paying too much for printer ink? So do two lads from the West Midlands. You might grumble about it to friends and coworkers--or even boycott the expensive stuff. They formed a hip-hop group in protest. It's called Cartridge Heads.

"The cost of ink is outrageous, and it's time somebody spoke out about it," says MC Inc, front man for the band. MC Inc formed Cartridge Heads after leaving his corporate job and traveling in the Far East. "We formed the band to get the word out to people--and maybe catch the attention of the big corporations, too."

"We met at a bar in Phuket and started talking about how big corporations rip off consumers on a regular basis," says DJ Headz, a former salesman for an electronics company. "We were both into hip-hop and spoken word, and both are traditionally forums where regular people can speak out against injustice. The price we pay for printer ink is definitely an injustice."

And speak out they did--in their first single, "More Precious Than Gold," the pair exhort listeners to stop "giving up their money to the ink cartels." A better option? "Refill cartridges," says MC Inc. "Costs a lot less and if you find a good company, the quality of ink is just as good."
