DeDf Co announces the latest releae of its Opensource data flow programming tool - deltaFSD.

DeDf Co has announced the release of V0.4 of deltafSD - its data flow programming tool for modelling, simulation and automatic code generation.

deltaFSD provides:

1. Graphical program definition - you select the functions you need and then simply link inputs to outputs.

2.    Instant program execution - the program runs as you define it.

3. Lots of built in functions covering logic, math, input and output.

4. Embedded scripting using Perl for your own extensions.

5. A socket/streams interface for communication with the outside world.

6. Get-you-started examples of control panels using Glade and Tk.

deltaFSD has accumulated a fair amount of documentation (at http://www.dedf.co.uk/deltafsd), hopefully enough to satisfy those interested in how it works and what it is aiming to achieve.

But, as ever, the best starting point is to give it a try.

The latest version is deltaFSD-V0.4. We are still referring to it as a "proof of concept" so tell us what you think. We are particularly interested in feedback from users - what works well and what doesn't, what additional functions, features and facilities would be useful.

Contributions to improvements in the design or implementation are always welcome. To date we've tried to keep things fairly general purpose and so would be very interested in what users need for particular types of application.

deltaFSD is written in C and uses the basic set of gtk libraries. It doesn't have any special build requirements and should be compatible with most Linux systems, but we're always interested in other build/execute experiences - particularly with non-Intel platforms.
