Former CEO and Founder of @Road (Fremont, CA) Announce Product and New Venture-Genx Mobile Incorporated

Founders of @Road/ AtRoad (Nasdaq: ARDI) announce new products and venture to address Mobile Resource Management (MRM) industry. Rod Fan and Dave Mlezcko have teamed up to design GPS based in-vehicle hardware for MRM service providers.

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 8, 2004 -- Founder and former CEO of @Road (Nasdaq: ARDI), Rodric (Rod) C. Fan joined with @Road co-founder E. David Mleczko to announce a family of advanced mobile data products from their new venture -- GenX Mobile Incorporated (GMI) located in San Jose, California. GMI's focus is to supply both mobile resource management (MRM) and mobile security industries with intelligent in-vehicle devices and technologies. This is the first product announcement from GMI.

"From our previous venture, we have created the momentum for the MRM service industry and witnessed the wide adoption of mobile enterprise applications. Product innovation continues to drive other evolving technologies such as mobile computing, and the MRM industry is no different," said Mr. Fan, President and CEO of GMI. "The MRM service industry is focused on areas such as server software, network infrastructure, deployment, and customer service. An intelligent wireless location device is required in each vehicle to interact, collect and deliver field operating information to the MRM service provider. MRM service providers must continue to adopt in-vehicle technology that helps their target customers to maximize field efficiency and mobility. GMI has designed a family of devices that simplify substantially the service task and enhance enterprise productivity."

Co-founder Mr. Mleczko, CTO and vice president of GMI added "Our GNX-10 product, is aimed at providing the industry with the most innovative and practical means for wireless data communication. Currently, we use GPRS, CDMA, and 802.11 for wide-area wireless connectivity, although our platform allows seamless integration of any wireless standard. We take advantage of popular RS-232 and Ethernet ports for connectivity in the vehicle and GPS for location management. The Ethernet port allows field workers to easily connect laptop computers, PDAs and other Ethernet compatible equipment," said Mr. Mlezcko. "Additionally, GMI has taken an important step in enabling true mobility for field workers. The GNX-10 can be connected with readily available 802.11a/b/g, bridges, routers or access points to take advantage of developments in the mainstream WiFi industry."

With its recently acquired US patent, GMI announces the availability of the GNX-10 product: Location based in-vehicle unit using the following wireless coverage for 802.11 and/or GPRS, or CDMA. All these products are available for sample. Production quantities will be available in Q4 of 2004. The low cost GNX-5 product for mobile security applications will also be available in Q-4 of 2004. iDEN and Bluetooth products are planned for early 2005.

GMI provides professional service for custom hardware and server designs for enterprises or application service providers.
