VIR Technologies, Inc. Releases Source Code for Chemistry Independent Battery Management

Intuitive Power Management (IPM) TM solutions recognize batteries as chemical components in an electrical design, and enable conditioning battery chargers to be designed into many high performance and cost saving applications.

(PRWEB) July 10, 2004 -- VIR Technologies, Inc. (VIR) today announces they have released source codes for chemistry independent battery management, including a SDK for PBASIC and C++ platforms. These SDKs simplify designs of wireless, handheld and mobile battery charging requirements. By integrating these IPM solutions into portable designs, these battery powered products will achieve greater runtimes and experience reduced downtime due to battery management failures.

The insatiable demand for battery powered products including wireless phones, notebook PCs, digital cameras, MP3 players and PDAs continues to highlight that key demand of extended battery life and uptime. The availability of IPM source code offers software engineers and product designers the convenience of chemistry independent solutions, while reducing the costs of battery charging designs and product replacements.

The IPM2003-BCM SDK for Basic Stamps acknowledges, monitors and charges Li, Li-Polymer, NiCd, NiMH, and other secondary batteries. Industry standard termination methods are used, in addition to proprietary state-of-energy" and battery chemistry acknowledgement" code from VIR.

VIR software engineers have developed code that is easily portable to wireless phones, notebook PCs, PDAs, battery packs, RF Radios, or the wireless networks they use.

Unit pricing for the IPM2003-BCM source code for Basic Stamps is only $25.00 for a lifetime license. SDKs and source code for C++ platforms will be available soon.
