New Giant Apollo Panoramic Posters

Moonpans.com the Apollo panoramic photo specialists, have just released a new range of unique giant Apollo Panoramic Posters. The posters measure 62 inches wide by 21 inches high, and look spectacular!

(PRWEB) July 15, 2004 -- During the 6 moonlandings between 1969-1972, the Apollo Astronauts took several panoramas. This was done by the Astronaut standing in one spot, and then taking several single photos of the location as he rotated in a 360 degree circle. The result would be about 20 photos which when laid alongside each other, would form a 360 degree panoramic mosaic of the location.

Where moonpans.com come in, is in the art of digitally assembling these images to form a continuous and seamless single panoramic image, at a very high quality and resolution.

"These posters are one of a kind" says Mike Constantine of moonpans.com. "We constructed the images ourselves from dozens of high resolution NASA scans to form the seamless assembled panorama. Hundreds of hours were spent on each one to ensure that every minute detail was smooth and as seamless as possible. Not even NASA themselves have ever assembled the Apollo panoramas to that degree."

At the moment there are 2 posters available, the incredible shot of Apollo 14 Lunar Module 'Antares' sitting in the bright sunshine at Fra Mauro. And the magnificent vista of the Apollo 15 landing site, showing Commander Dave Scott hard at work on the Hadley Plain. Moonpans.com plan to have more images available later in the year.
