New NetOp Release Supports RSA SecurID Authentication NetOp Remote Control v7.65 upgrade supports RSA authentication along with its additional security Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) July 15, 2004 -- CrossTec Corporation announced the latest release to NetOp Remote Control today. This new release supports RSA SecurID authentication in addition to the long list of security already included in NetOp.
NetOp Remote Control was originally developed in 1987 as a testing and support tool for a mission critical database application managing a major European stock market. From its very inception, NetOp had to focus on providing bulletproof security.
Danware Data A/S, developers of NetOp, continues to meet the demands, of the enterprise IT industry, for a secure, cross-platform, remote access and control solution. NetOp Remote Control currently offers a NetOp Gateway Server, a NetOp Security Server, multiple Host and Guest password authentication, 256-bit AES encryption, and event logging. The addition of RSA SecurID authentication provides an additional line of defense to insure secure data streams and Guest/Host connections.
Were very excited about the RSA authentication included in this latest release. Todays enterprise security is constantly being put to the test by the ever increasing number of vulnerabilities and attackers. NetOp addresses this need and provides a solution that enterprises both large and small can benefit from. NetOp is the most secure remote control application currently available. Were very proud of the fact that we offer more security than any other remote control application on the market", says Robert Rounsavall, technical product manager for CrossTec.
The NetOp Security Server enables network administrators to centrally manage the individual security privileges of all the Guest and Host machines on their network. With the Security Server, system administrators can assign every user distinctive access and security rights. Then, each time a remote connection is attempted, the Guest and Host are identified through a database and assigned their predefined unique security privileges. If an unrecognized or outside Guest attempts to make a connection to a Host machine, the security server will block the unidentified Guest from making a connection. The security server also keeps a separate activity log of all Host activity in a secure location to insure that an intruder cant erase their footprint in the event of an attack.
The NetOp Gateway server directs all in-bound and out-bound data streams through a single port in a networks firewall. This way, no additional ports are utilized or left open to be used as back doors by possible sniffers or intruders.
NetOp Remote Control offers several types of encryption to insure the protection of all confidential data and information. With government standard 256-bit AES encryption, administrators can rest assured that every remote connection is secured in the event of an attempted interception. Depending on its configuration, NetOp provides a number of ways to encrypt data streams including: mouse and keyboard stroke encryption and full blown data integrity encryption.
