FWL wins US Customs approval for AMS

Integration of AMS with FulfilmentSCE system provides FWL customers with global visibility and real-time information on cargo status

Cranford, NJ (PRWEB) July 23, 2004 -- FWL Technologies Ltd has become an Automated Manifest System (AMS) service centre provider after successfully completing the regulatory and technical testing with US Customs. This will allow FWL to facilitate its customers' compliance with the 24-hour rule and provide increased transparency and improved efficiency in the supply chain.

FWL Technologies will operate the AMS Service Centre out of its US Headquarters in New Jersey, USA. Additionally, AMS approval procedures have been integrated into the FWL FulfillmentSCE system to provide a truly integrated global freight system.

This new service provides customers with MQ Series technology, the latest communication technology. To process bill of lading information, FWL can accept BOL information online via FWLs Internet module or directly via EDI messages. This eliminates the need for the freight forwarder to re-key the BOL data into the service providers system. FWL then completes the filing on behalf of the client.

Many service centres allow customers to enter bill of lading information online, but we can go a lot further than that. Our solution is part of the integrated system, meaning that the whole process runs automatically and users are notified of any errors at the point of entry as well as receiving alerts that are built into the functionality. FWLs shipping line clients can also access the system enabling data from BOLs entered into the FulfillmentSCE system to be submitted to US Customs. This is possible as FWLs customers such as Nordana and CMA CGM have a global system operated on a single database facilitating the flow of data to US Customs.

The 24 hour-rule requires all shippers and freight forwarders who import cargo to the US Must provide complete Bill of lading detailed information to US Customs 24 hours prior to Vessel departure from foreign load ports.
