EventTracker closes the loop on complete event management by combining policy-based event management and correlation, host-based intrusion detection, log analysis and archival, real-time alerting and reporting into a single, integrated solution.

EventTracker now includes a powerful set of capabilities that enables organizations to centralize events from many different input points, and correlate all this information to identify potential operational issues, while integrating real-time incident notification. EventTracker v4.5 includes the following major feature additions:

* Completely redesigned User Interface. The new interface provides easy drill-down on important real-time events. With v4.5, the administrator gains rapid access to important events, at-a-glance color coded group and system status, configurable column display, percentage displays for rapid analysis and one click printing of any window.

* Enterprise ready log support. Many applications including Anti-virus, web servers and databases generate their log files in plain text or some popular format. For example, Apache generates log files in NCSA format, IIS can generate logs in IISW3C format, some applications generate logs in their own .EVT files, and many anti-virus and host-based firewalls generate logs in plain text format. The EventTracker agent can now monitor these log files for user defined strings. If events match the string text, an alert is generated and delivered to the appropriate stakeholder as an audible alarm, email message or page. The following formats are supported: IIS, IISW3C, IISMSID, NCSA, BIN, URLSCAN, HTTPERR, EVT, and Delineated TEXT.

* Administrative system security. In installations where there may be multiple EventTracker Consoles or in security-conscious installations, the agent can be locked down to accept configuration changes only from specific administrator defined locations. Attempts to change agent configuration from non-authorized locations are rejected.

* Detection of USB or media insert/removal. The availability of high capacity media such as USB disks or DVD's presents a new challenge to server security. Persons with physical access to critical machines may copy confidential data to such sources and completely avoid perimeter defenses. The EventTracker v4.5 agent is capable of detecting and reporting the insertion or removal of such devices including USB, media (CDROM/DVD), PCMCIA cards or other changes to the hardware configuration.
