"Blind Reason" - The Chilling New Novel of Pharmaceutical Intrigue

After the suicide of her best friend, Maya Warwick is determined to prove that Thea Rousseau's death was not caused by depression but was probably a side effect of a new Prozac-like mood brightener" called Euphorin. As a result of her suspicions, she finds herself ensnared in a global mind-control plot. Patricia Griffons Blind Reason is a spellbinding novel of espionage and pharmaceutical intrigue that will grip readers from the first page to the last.

Evergreen, CO (PRWEB) July 27, 2004 -- When investigative journalist and author Maya Warwick discovers that the manufacturer of Euphorin has ties to a Nazi pharmaceutical company that developed psychotropic drugs for use in experiments at Auschwitz, she suspects that Euphorin's purpose is more sinister than a panacea for anxiety and depression. After posting on several websites that Euphorin would be the ideal instrument for molding the masses into perfect sheeple, she attracts the attention of the former spook who was once in charge of the now infamous CIA mind control experiments known as MK-ULTRA. In her quest for the truth about Thea's suicide, Maya agrees to be a pawn in the most diabolical and ambitious plot since the Third Reich.

Blind Reason dishes out more thrills than the usual espionage novel, covering territory from Colorado to Afghanistan as it mirrors recent events. Backed by extensive research in cosmetic psychopharmacology," mind control during the Third Reich, and the links between popular anti-depressants, suicide, and violence, Blind Reason walks a thin line between fact and fiction, especially in light of the current FDA investigations into the dangers of the psychiatric medications known as SSRIs.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Patricia Griffon was born in Los Angeles and attended UCLA. In the late 70s, she began working in the music industry in LA, New York, and Nassau where she produced records and music videos and served as a personal manager to a variety of musical acts. She moved to Colorado in the early nineties where she met and married her husband, with whom she opened a series of successful, upscale Italian restaurants.

Blind Reason was inspired, in part, by Ms. Griffons adverse reaction to the popular anti-depressant Paxil. She is a plaintiff in one of the many suits filed against the manufacturer. "It's been a seven-year battle to finally get these drugs labeled with a black box warning. This success is bittersweet knowing that many people actually killed themselves because of these drugs." Ms. Griffon is currently working on her second novel of pharmaceutical intrigue and lives in the mountains outside Denver with her husband.
