Survey Shows High Interest Rates Not Hitting Travel Plans -- Aussies Remain Committed to Holidaymaking A recent survey shows that a majority of Australian travelers are proving resilient to the financial pressures of high interest rates, refusing to give up on holiday plans. Whilst some are altering plans, a preponderance of respondents said foregoing travel was not on their agendas even in the face of economic adversity. Brisbane, Queensland (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 - A recent survey shows that a majority of Australian travelers are proving resilient to the financial pressures of high interest rates, refusing to give up on holiday plans. Whilst some are altering plans, a preponderance of respondents said foregoing travel was not on their agendas even in the face of economic adversity.
Conducted by insure4less, one of Australia's leading travel insurance specialists, the survey showed that a large percentage of travelers are not altering their plans at all, despite current high interest rates. That number came in at a whopping 70 percent. The remaining 30 percent of respondents are opting to forego travel, are reducing the length of their stays overseas or are selecting more affordable destinations.
"We always knew that Aussies were born to travel and they will forsake other luxuries in order to afford to travel," said Aubrey Abbott, managing director of insure4less. "The survey clearly holds up this belief. Even amongst those who say they have been affected by the economy, most say they will do some form of travelling in the near future."
Even with money tight, Abbott noted that many travellers are still taking advantage of the financial protections available to them through companies like insure4less. Many, he said, are finding it even more important to safeguard their investment in travel through the use of insurance cover.
"Whilst travel insurance is not on top of their holiday wish list, it is an essential part of the overall cost of travel," he said. "insure4less provides a range of cheap travel insurance plans, allowing the traveller to opt for the budget Essentials cover through to their top of the range Excel Plus, which offers very extensive protection."
insure4less provides travellers with access to a variety of plans designed to protect their investment in holidaymaking. Depending on the policy selected, cover details through insure4less plans include such protections as cancellation and curtailment, personal liability, overseas medical expenses, loss or theft of baggage, missed departure or connections, travel delay and even catastrophe and rental vehicle excess waiver. insure4less simply provides travellers with the cover they need to enjoy peace of mind whilst they are away from home within Australia or abroad, Abbott said.
"By cutting out travel agent's commission and keeping costs low through the use of clever web technology, insure4less is helping Aussie travelers travel that bit further," Abbott said. "Proper cover gives travelers the security of knowing their investment is protected if the unexpected happens."
