New SMB community advocacy firm launching

PMcommunity.org will be introduced to the Small Midsize Business community in the fall of 2004. The firm provides unique partnering opportunities for professional service providers--sole practitioners and members of small firms. There is no cost or obligation, strict confidentiality is assured, totally friction-free and a terrific new business development resource for the independent practitioner.

(PRWEB) July 25, 2004 -- The marketing pardigm for local attorneys, accountants, consultants and other small business advisors has irrevocably changed during the past decade. The good old ways of promoting one's practice seemed not to work as well, i.e. costs seemed to be going up with diminishing returns. Yes, the advent of the Internet and World Web Web had a lot to do with it--but not as most had envisioned.

The dot-com bubble burst along with the Y2K "crisis" as we entered into the millennium. Untold millions of dollars were misspent and the rest is history. Along the way, small business seemed to get smaller as the marketing gap seemed to widen with their Wall St counterparts. What once worked "well" or at least well enough to be considered "accepted practice," became suspect in a hurry. The poster-child for this phenomenon is the Yellow Pages. Once--not so very long ago--this marketing tool was king for the small practitioner Today, it has fallen off the practice development radar screen of many professionals.

The rush to get one's own Web site proved not to be the answer. Similar to buying a larger ad in the colored-pages du jour, the return on advertising dollar was abysmal. The best (most expensive) site on the web isn't worth squat unless the right people read it at the right time--and then act on it. In other words, there must be a better way.

While not professing to be a panacea, PMcommunity.org will be offering many excellent alternate solutions to professionals who find their way to this unique Web site. One of the most interesting new approaches to business development and marketing is "collaborative teaming" or cross-discipline partnering. Excitingly, these are grownup concepts that are still evolving in the states and offer fantastic potential for everyone involved.

Firstly, there is no unfront cost or hidden charges to join and become "clustered" or register as a member. Secondly, there is no obligation to do anything--except to be available for new clients as they (already prescreened and qualify) approach you! Thirdly, there usually is no commission or fee-splitting involved.

Sound too good to be true? Of course it does--but it's not. It is worthy of investigation and scrutiny--especially by those who are ready, willing and able to accept new business. After Labor Day, point your favorite browser to www.PMcommunity.org to get full enumertion.

For the curious who can't wait, PM stands for Project Management.
