OnPATH Technologies Joins AFCS Forum to Help Lead the Fiber Connectivity and Switching Movement

OnPATH Supports New Forum's Efforts to Accelerate Adoption and Deployment of Emerging Connectivity Technologies.

Marlton, NJ (PRWEB) October 8, 2008 -- OnPATH Technologies (www.onpathtech.com), the leading provider of intelligent infrastructure switch solutions enabling companies to automate and virtualize their physical infrastructure layer (www.onpathtech.com/solutions/UCS.aspx), today announced it has become a member of the Advanced Fiber Connectivity and Switching Forum (AFCS (www.afcsforum.org/)). The newly formed group is focused on accelerating the adoption and deployment of fiber connectivity and optical switching technologies worldwide, and OnPATH's involvement reinforces its position as a leader in this movement.

"OnPATH's active participation with our networking peers reflects our commitment to drive automated connectivity innovation to benefit the industry," said OnPATH Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Brian McCann. "The AFCS Forum will facilitate industry dialogue and stimulate new ideas. OnPATH looks forward to contributing our time, intellectual capital, and physical layer connectivity experience to this initiative."

The AFCS Forum will initially study the application of physical layer switching and management tools to perform the following tasks remotely: fiber provisioning, fiber protection and restoration, and fiber test, monitoring and troubleshooting. It will also work to resolve obstacles that stand in the way of remote fiber management technology deployments. This will include collaboration with industry standards bodies to identify needs for updated or new standards.

As a member of the AFCS Forum, OnPATH is joining companies like ADC, AT&T, Calient Networks, Corning Cable Systems, Ovum, Polatis, Telcordia Technologies, Inc., Tyco Electronics, and Verizon.

The high-tech New Jersey firm also announced that Chief Technology Officer, Larry Cantwell, will join the AFCS Applications Sub-Committee and Corporate Marketing Manager, Beth Harte, will sit on the Marketing Sub-Committee.
