AT&T Extends And Expands Wizzard Agreement For World Wide TTS Distribution Rights Wizzard Software (OTCBB: WIZD) announced today they have expanded their relationship with AT&T with the addition of distribution rights for the Telephony Server version of AT&T's Natural Voices text-to-speech engine, bringing voice technology to a new generation of business and consumer applications. PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) July 29, 2004 -- Wizzard Software (OTCBB: WIZD) announced today they have expanded their relationship with AT&T with the addition of distribution rights for the Telephony Server version of AT&T's Natural Voices text-to-speech engine, bringing voice technology to a new generation of business and consumer applications. In addition to adding the Telephony Server product line, the agreement between Wizzard and AT&T has been extended beyond the original three years.
The AT&T Natural Voices Telephony Server edition is targeted to include corporate IT servers and Internet Service Providers. Businesses of all sizes will benefit by using these products due to its ability to simultaneously support different languages for dialogue or multi-language telephone applications efficiently and effectively.
For example, a company offering voice portal services can support multiple languages for international customers with one AT&T Natural Voices TTS engine and multiple foreign-language voice fonts, all on the same hardware platform. This has a potential to provide significant savings to voice portals and ISPs.
"Demand for high quality Text-To-Speech has never been stronger and customers are responding with great enthusiasm to the exceptional quality of AT&T Natural Voices," said Bruce Phifer, Wizzard Software's General Manager of Business and Market Development. "We are pleased with the confidence AT&T has shown in Wizzard's abilities by making us as their sales and marketing channel for their world-class TTS technology and view this announcement as a true milestone for Wizzard and all customers who will benefit from these products."
This agreement also meets a rising need for companies to make information accessible to the disabled community. "AT&T Natural Voices will now support a new generation of telephony applications for individuals with special needs for advanced communication tools," said Juergen Schroeter, AT&T's Director for Speech Algorithms and Engines Research. "Wizzard provides strong sales, support and marketing capabilities for AT&T Labs' advanced speech technologies."
AT&T Labs' Natural Voices software delivers among the highest quality voices in the industry and offers "plug-and-play" language support instead of requiring different engines for each language. AT&T's Natural Voices team can create voices up to three times faster than the industry standard and the AT&T technology provides up to 20 percent higher channel density than the closest competitor.
"The use of high quality TTS continues to grow, although the potential has been significantly under optimized," according to Voice Information Associates industry analyst Walt Tetschner. "With the aggressive and innovative orientation that Wizzard Software brings to the table, the likelihood of high quality TTS truly reaching its potential is enhanced significantly."
