Eaglepicher Wolverine Division Selects Richard Newark As Operations Director

Richard W. Newark has been named operations director of EaglePicher Automotive Wolverine Division. In this role, Newark leads the day-to-day operations of the companys U.S. manufacturing facilities, including two plants in Blacksburg, Va., and one facility in Leesburg, Fla.

INKSTER, MI (PRWEB) July 30, 2004 -- Richard W. Newark has been named operations director of EaglePicher Automotive Wolverine Division, according to President Jay Pittas, who made the announcement.

In this role, Newark leads the day-to-day operations of the companys domestic manufacturing facilities, including two plants in Blacksburg, Va., and one facility in Leesburg, Fla. Newark will formulate and carry out operational strategies for the rubber coated materials producer, representing 260,000 sq. ft. in manufacturing operations and 400 employees. Working with senior company management, he will also develop a manufacturing approach that addresses growth in both the domestic as well as international markets. He is currently based in Blacksburg.

Newark brings extensive executive management experience to his new position. Most recently, he served as manufacturing director and plant manager with ZF Batavia, Batavia, Ohio, where he achieved improvements in many manufacturing operations, including safety, scrap, production scheduling, inventory and overall productivity. Previously, he spent 20 years with the Cummins Engine Company, serving as plant manager of Atlas Crankshaft, Fostoria, Ohio, and in management and engineering positions at the companys Lakewood, N.Y. operation.

Newark earned a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Pennsylvania State University.

Wolverine Division is a worldwide supplier of rubber-coated metallic and non-metallic gasketing for the automotive OEM and industrial markets. The division, which celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2004, operates plants in Michigan, Virginia, Florida and Germany, and a research and development facility at its Inkster, Mich., headquarters. The division distributes more than 350 million products annually.
