West Point Graduate and Former Special Forces Pilot Named GradPAC's Fundraising Director West Point Graduate and former Special Forces pilot Christian Walters has been named GradPAC's Fundraising Director. Walters, a former Army Major and AH-6 "Little Bird" pilot in the famed 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment known as the "Nightstalkers," is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom. Washington, DC (PRWEB) August 9, 2004 -- GradPAC Chairman Shawn N. Olds announced the appointment of Christian Walters as the organization’s fundraising director today.
Walters is a 1992 graduate of the United States Military Academy. He is currently a student at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management as a candidate for a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Engineering Management.
"As a Special Operations Aviator, Christian is quite used to tackling the tough jobs that no one else is willing to attempt. In politics, fundraising is one of the most arduous and difficult tasks that one can undertake, but it is essential to achieving organizational objectives," said Chairman Olds. "Christian recognized the need for more military veterans in elected office and desired to continue his own service to the country out of uniform by serving GradPAC’s important mission. He readily volunteered for duty; and with Christian leading our fundraising efforts, the prosperity of our organization and the success of our candidates is limitless."
After graduating from West Point in 1992, Walters went on to graduate at the top of his flight school class at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Thereafter, he served as an Apache platoon leader with the 101st Airborne Division at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky and then as an Apache Troop commander with the 6th U.S. Cavalry in South Korea. For the remainder of his active duty career, Walters served with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, famously known as the “NightStalkers.”
As an AH-6 “Little Bird” pilot in the storied 160th, he served in a variety of capacities including platoon leader and liaison officer. He also deployed overseas in 2001 during Operation Enduring Freedom as a liaison officer to various U.S. Department of Defense entities. Walters recently left active duty as a Major.
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Walters remains actively involved in a variety of West Point alumni activities and local charities. He is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
