Reception at FRED SEGAL GREEN for Designer mau: Post Industrial Folk Wear October 22, 6-9 PM

mau addresses head on problems of utility, sustainability, and style in her innovative collection of garments made of featherweight tyvek.

Santa Monica, California, (PRWEB) October 16, 2008 -- The entire collection POST INDUSTRIAL FOLK WEAR consists of garment, totes and accessories, is made of tyvek, a Dupont high performance nonwoven taken from the building and stationary trades and adapted by mau for persoanl use.

The material looks like perishable paper but is durable, washable, water/wind resistant, is made of up to 25% recycled material and is recyclable.

The collection presents a completely unique mixture of appropriated and recycled elements, folk and high tech design with the signature fit, artisan pattern making, and art infused details for which mau is known.
