Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) October 16, 2008 -- Drexel University will host "An Evening with Dr. James Oschman" featuring a presentation by the renowned biophysicist and author of Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis. Oschman will present on clinical aspects of Biological Fields offered through Drexel's online certificate in Complementary and Integrated Therapies program. A formal reception and book signing will immediately follow the presentation.

Oschman, a biophysicist and a pioneer in the exploration of the scientific basis for complementary and integrative therapies, is the author of two textbooks Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis, and Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance. At the event, he will discuss scientific insight into the energetic phenomena taking place in the therapeutic setting.

"We are honored to have Dr. Oschman with us, to share his expertise on the emerging concepts of energy medicine," said Stephanie Ross, director of the Complementary and Integrative Therapies certificate program from Drexel's College of Nursing and Health Professions.

Energy medicine is the art and science of working with and teaching people to work with these energies to empower them to live happier, healthier lives, according to the Energy Medicine Institute. Energy medicine is a domain in Complementary and Alternative Medicine that deals with energy fields of two types; veritable, which can be measured

and putative, which have yet to be measured.

The event is open to the public and will take place on Saturday, October 18, at 6 p.m. at the Drexel University Center City campus, New College Building, Geary Auditorium and will be catered by Whole Foods. Entertainment for the event will be provided by Mike Lorena Jazz Quartet. Registration for the event is $30.00 and is required prior to the event.
