BigDigit Launches 'mFlix, The Mobile Entertainment Channel, as a Premium Selection on the Sprint PCS Vision Multimedia Services Network

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 20, 2004 -- BigDigit, Inc. has announced the launch of mFlix, The Mobile Entertainment Channel. mFlix can be found at channel 7 on the Sprint PCS nationwide wireless network, as part of Sprints new Vision Multimedia Services. Other channels include: CNN, NBC, FOX Sports, The Weather Channel, E! Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox, AccuWeather and 1KTV.

mFlix (www.mflix.com) is a subscription mobile media service, offering made-for-mobile films and animations to viewers via Sprints new multimedia service, which is specifically designed for streaming video and audio content. mFlix movies are streamed to viewers on demand, on their mobile phones. mFlix movies have been characterized as 'edgy, offbeat and fun and includes a wide range of genres, from short comedy and great animation to mobile music videos from unsigned garage bands.

The films, streamed through Sprints high-speed wireless network, are played on an embedded media player built into the Samsung, Inc. MM-A700 mobile phone, which debuted earlier this week along with the Sprint service and is specifically designed to handle 15 frames/second streaming video. Samsung is the first in the U.S. to offer mobile devices capable of supporting streaming content and high-resolution high-speed imaging. The MM-A700 also features Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) technology to deliver CD-like sound quality when listening to multimedia content.
