Leashes and Lovers Invites Single LGBT Dog Lovers to Come Out" Leashes and Lovers hosts first dog-friendly singles mixer for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) dog lovers and their pooches at the LGBT Community Center August 25th at 6pm. The event will benefit NYSAVE, a NYC-based pet charity (PRWEB) August 21, 2004 -- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) single dog lovers and their pooches will be coming out" like never before on Wednesday, August 25th in Manhattan at a Leashes and Lovers singles event at the LGBT Community Center. This event is mingling with a mission" as proceeds will benefit NYSAVE, the NYC-based pet charity providing grants for emergency medical care for pets of low-income New Yorkers.
This is our first singles mixer for the LGBT community and we are very excited. It is so nice to be able to come to one of our mixers with your dog. It is a warm and friendly environment -- everyone in the room has something in common which allows for such fun conversations and interactions," says Leashes and Lovers co-founder Sheryl Matthys.
Scott West, Director of Development for NYSAVE points out, "The Gay community has a long history of pets as a part of the family and we thought it time we reach out with a special event to serve the community's needs."
Everyone is guaranteed to have a great time at this event even if they dont have a dog," says Leashes and Lovers co-founder Michelle Kennedy. She knows for certain that leashes can lead to lovers" as she has been married for three years to a man she met in Central Park while stopping to pet the Golden Retriever puppy walking him.
The evening event will include: fun mingling, delicious dog treats freshly-baked by Buttercups Paw-tisserie, Best Pet Costume Contest" with prizes supplied by Scout Dog Boutique, New York Dog Spa and Hotel, and Dog Wash, and special advice from jet-set pet expert Miss Fido Manners. Dont forget to BYOB (Bring Your Own Bowl)! If your dog cannot make it, bring a photo.
