Tier 1 Partners enters into a Master Partner Agreement with Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 23, 2004 -- Tier 1 Partners announced today that it has entered into a Master Partner Agreement with Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation. Under the agreement, Teradata will provide Tier 1 with Teradata Software and support so that Tier 1 can integrate its products and the products of other partners with Teradata's data warehousing and analytic applications platforms.

"And now that we have a Teradata V2R5.1 onsite installation for development and testing, we're going to look closely at integration opportunities with our Corporate Performance Management (CPM) and Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions."

Another area of focus for Tier 1 will be the integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) into the Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse Environment. "We have already started work on User Defined Functions (UDFs) in Teradata that can analyze spatial data in binary format inside a Teradata warehouse," said Tony Pearson, Tier 1 Senior Consultant. "The work we have done in porting OpenGIS standards to Teradata allows us to call a UDF as part of a Teradata SQL call to tell the distance between two geographic points or to tell if a particular geographic point falls within a polygon, etc."

More detailed announcements are anticipated in the coming months as Teradata and Tier 1 participate in marketing and PR events to promote the new solutions.
