The Dallas Mayors Committee for the Employment of People with Disabilities has announced the award winners for 2004. The awards honor individuals and companies in the community who have made a positive contribution to the awareness, accessibility and general well being of those with disabilities.

The awards honor individuals and companies in the community who have made a positive contribution to the awareness, accessibility and general well being of those with disabilities.

The Jack Evans Award; Ross Perot Sr.

Corporate Best Practices Award; JCPenney

Innovator Award; SMU Engineering Dept., Dr. Charles Lovas and Dr. Paul Packman

Media Award; Dallas Business Journal

Star Awards; Michael Richardson, Randy Snow, Jim Bovard.

The winners will be honored at the 22nd Annual Stars of Texas Salute" Gala on October 30, 2004 at the Westin Galleria Hotel from 7:00pm-midnight. Mike Snyder, NBC 5, will act as Master of Ceremonies with Gary Griffith, Dallas City Council, representing the city.

The evening, a masked ball theme, will include a reception, gourmet dinner, dancing and raffle auction. Musical entertainment will be provided by Crosswinds, a band comprised of former members of the famed North Texas Lab Band.
