Follow Up to Nick Venturellas Open Mic Tour

Results of Nick Venturellas Open Mic Tour, which was a effort to gain publicity for his upcoming album release.

(PRWEB) August 25, 2004 -- Nick Venturellas week-long Open Mic Tour was a success despite the cancellation of the final date.

Venturella toured a different Madison-area open mic each night from Monday August 16th through Friday August 20th. The tour originally scheduled Sunday August 22nd as the final open mic performance at the Angelic Brewing Company on W. Johnson St., but due to physical illness Venturella had to cancel. However, each performance was still well attended and well received.

The Open Mic Tour served its purpose well as a promotional event for the 24 year-old indie singer/songwriters latest album, Linear Cycle of the Seasons."

At each open mic Venturella performed a few songs from his upcoming album, which will be officially available August 31, 2004 on OatMeal Records.

General audience reactions at each open mic night were favorable, and grew even more so, when Venturella announced from the stage that he was giving away free CD singles.

I figured I might as well re-enforce what the audience heard live by giving them a sample to take home with them where theyre more likely to listen to it and share it with friends, spreading the music. Then hopefully if they like the music theyll come out to another show, bring some friends, and buy the full album."

Venturella planned his open mic tour around some well-known local showcases. Beginning Monday August 16, 2004, Venturella performed at Gennas Bar near the capital building, Wednesday was a livelier venue: Cheeseburger in Paradise, the Jimmy Buffet inspired fun-time hot spot, Thursday was in the calm atmosphere of downtown Madisons Casbah, and Friday was an intimate open mic performance at State Streets Steep & Brew where the softly lit stage area had performers playing au naturel with no amplification.

Serendipitously Venturellas most lively performance came before a crowd of 50 + people at Cheeseburger in Paradise where he became an instant favorite with the 20 & 30-something residents of Margaritaville.

Venturellas next performance will be at the Acoustic Café in Winona, MN. This is a venue Venturella frequents about twice a year. It will be the first live show with his new album available for purchase. An official Madison-area CD release party is in the works for the end of September or possibly early October.
