Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 26, 2004 -- Richard S. Guha, who heads Take Control of Inc., a business consulting practice, and Gary Stibel, who heads The New England Consulting Group, announced today the opening September 1st of the West Coast office of The Westport, CT based NECG. Under this new arrangement, Mr. Guha will be merging his Los Angeles consulting firm Take Control Of, Inc. with NECG. NECG clients include CBS, Pfizer, Citibank and Albertsons markets, among others. This office will also serve clients across the United States and internationally.

During his career, Mr. Guha reached the top of such Fortune 500 corporations as Reliant Energy, U.S. West, Remedy/BMC Software, Mars, Inc. and Procter & Gamble. He has also been on the Boards of Millennia III Inc., Northwind Inc. and New Science Inc.

Commenting on the expansion of NECG, Mr. Stibel stated, Richard brings a unique blend of successful, hands-on experience in major corporations across a number of industries, and the perspective he could only get from advising other Fortune 500 companies. He has a track record of reinventing businesses to their advantage."

Mr. Guha said, This will be a powerful combination. The New England Consulting Group has provided effective advice to corporations for twenty-five years. Their 'Principal Principal means that the only people who work on a clients business have a great track record at the highest levels of the top corporations. However smart the individuals are, there is no substitute for experience. The New England Consulting Group has some of the smartest and most experienced people I have ever met." Among The NECGs clients are Nestle, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Dow Jones and Merrill Lynch.

As Larry Garlick, chairman of the Board of Directors, CEO and president of Remedy Corporation said at the time when Mr. Guha joined Remedy, "Richard's addition to the Remedy executive team represents a commitment to move Remedy to the next level of growth as a provider of CRM and eBusiness solutions. Richard brings not only great marketing and strategic depth, but also a user perspective, which complements our own customer-driven mentality only achieved from advising other Fortune 500 companies. He has a track record of reinventing businesses to their advantage."

Richards success record and history speaks for itself, but many others have written about him. The Houston Chronicle said, "A different mindset is what Richard Guha brought to the energy industry as President of Reliant Energy's retail business."

Multi Channel News wrote at the time, Richard Guha, senior vice president of marketing for MediaOne, who joined the company six months ago after a career as a marketing consultant and manager in Procter & Gamble Co. and M&M/Mars, said MediaOne would not only have to market a new name and identity, but a new category, 'broadband,' as well. The introduction of "broadband" later resulted in Cablevision Magazines 1997 Innovator Award for Consumer Marketing." Richard has been the subject of stories in publications as varied as The Boston Herald and Variety.

Mr. Guha has been one of the pioneers and leading practitioners of branding, re-branding, positioning and re-positioning. From the introduction of Crest in the UK through many other new products, he has also led the redefinition of Fortune 500 companies. He has developed an understanding of branding by consulting, but also by hands-on, successful experience in Fortune 100 companies.

During the 1980s he was speaking, writing and consulting on brand-building. In 1990, he contributed the groundbreaking section on branding in New Horizons in Marketing (Zurich) and is author of the new book, "How to Get What You Most Want in Life." As a management consultant, he has advised companies as diverse as Kraft Foods, Sprint, H.J. Heinz, ConAgra, Perdue Farms, McGraw Hill, Hallmark, McCormick, 3M, Coca Cola, Nestle, GE, Beiersdorf, AT&T, The Tribune Companies, Novartis, Bristol Myers Squibb, Time Warner AOL, Izod Lacoste, Imation, Alliant Foodservice, Citibank, Unilever and Pfizer.
