Adopt a Library.org Featured in Womans World - For Some Needy Kids, Back to School Just Got a Whole Lot Sweeter

AdoptALibrary.org, the fastest growing literacy advocacy website on the Internet, is the featured Hot Website" in the August 24th edition of Womans World magazine.

FALLS CHURCH, VA (PRWEB) August 31, 2004 -- AdoptALibrary.org, the fastest growing literacy advocacy website on the Internet, is the featured Hot Website" in the August 24th edition of Womans World magazine.

AdoptALibrary.org is an Internet clearinghouse designed to encourage and facilitate donations to libraries in prisons, Native American reservations, and schools around the world. AdoptALibrary.org neither asks for nor accepts donations - all offered help goes directly to libraries and schools or organizations which aid them.

In 2003 AdoptALibrary.org had over 200,000 visitors, thanks in no small part to articles in hundreds of newspapers across the U.S., from an editorial in Big Fork, Montana to the nationally syndicated Hints from Heloise".

AdoptALibrary.org is the brainchild of musician Lynn Gaubatz, considered to be one of classical musics most brilliant soloists. Says Lynn, This Womans World feature is really exciting! Each time AdoptALibrary.org gets a plug in the press, thousands and thousands of books are donated to worthy libraries by generous visitors. And there is SUCH a spread of donors - from environmentalists recycling their books to new hands to parents teaching their children to reach out and help other kids for the first time."

Named One of America's Ten Most Outstanding Young Working Women" by GLAMOUR Magazine, Lynn has wowed audiences on four continents and at music festivals around the world. On her benefit Concerts for India" in Austria in 2002 and 2003, Lynn performed the world premières of two of the five works composed especially for her by composer Fritz Berens, an Austrian composer who fled the Nazis in 1939.

Besides her international career as a soloist and chamber musician, Lynn is an avid literacy activist who performs benefit concerts for schools and libraries in the US and Europe. She also researches, performs, and lectures on music banned and destroyed during the Nazi regime to bring to light the forgotten music, and credits libraries with preserving much of the music and literature that would otherwise be lost.

An innovator in both music and literacy activism, Lynn recently ran a competition through AdoptALibrary.org to find the most clever and eco-friendly uses for old National Geographic magazines, with the prize awarded by the National Geographic Society.
