AdoptALibrary.org is the brainchild of musician Lynn Gaubatz, considered to be one of classical musics most brilliant soloists. Says Lynn, This Womans World feature is really exciting! Named One of America's Ten Most Outstanding Young Working Women" by GLAMOUR Magazine, Lynn has wowed audiences on four continents and at music festivals around the world. On her benefit Concerts for India" in Austria in 2002 and 2003, Lynn performed the world premières of two of the five works composed especially for her by composer Fritz Berens, an Austrian composer who fled the Nazis in 1939.

Besides her international career as a soloist and chamber musician, Lynn is an avid literacy activist who performs benefit concerts for schools and libraries in the US and Europe. She also researches, performs, and lectures on music banned and destroyed during the Nazi regime to bring to light the forgotten music, and credits libraries with preserving much of the music and literature that would otherwise be lost.

An innovator in both music and literacy activism, Lynn recently ran a competition through AdoptALibrary.org to find the most clever and eco-friendly uses for old National Geographic magazines, with the prize awarded by the National Geographic Society.
