Myerstown, PA (PRWEB) November 3, 2008 -- Solar Innovations, Inc. a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial greenhouses; conservatories; sunrooms; folding, tilting, and sliding glass doors, walls, windows, and screens; completes an estate greenhouse for a notable New England establishment.

Solar Innovations, Inc is proud to have recently completed the custom greenhouse (http://www.solarinnovations.com/residential/greenhouses/) replacement in Newport, Rhode Island in conjunction with one of our well established dealers. Beginning work in early 2008, Solar Innovations® and Heritage Greenhouse Builders replicated a historic greenhouse for the New York Yacht Club. This elite organization requested that an architecturally and historically accurate greenhouse be erected on their property to replace one beyond repair.

After a prolonged architectural approval process, it was decided that a straight eave, double pitch greenhouse, with two interior partition walls, utilizing Solar Innovations, Inc.'s exclusive aluminum restoration bar system replacing the existing system. The system was finished in White simulating the previous greenhouse's finish. To ensure proper circular ventilation, the structure incorporates six 4-bay operable ridge vents and six 4-bay operable eave vents. Superior performance in diverting accumulated moisture away from the structure was achieved with a two tier weep system, enhancing the already unrivalled restoration system by Solar Innovations® which features its own historically accurate exterior bar cap system.

Adorning the exterior of the structure are decorative finials and ridge cresting to create a unique feel and match the existing architecture; as well as custom extruded aluminum gutters designed to add a special touch to the decorative elements of the greenhouse (http://www.solarinnovations.com/residential/greenhouses/). Finally, two cold frames were also incorporated into this structure. Cold frames are external greenhouse growing boxes that are used either for starting seedlings or for cold weather propagating plants.

The finished greenhouse structure measures 59 feet in length, twenty feet in width, and has a nine foot ridge height, not including the base wall. This majestic structure provides the utmost in architectural appeal and historic character; rave reviews have been received from the customers and those who have had the opportunity to visit the structure.

Solar Innovations'® historic restoration greenhouse (http://www.solarinnovations.com/residential/greenhouses/) system completely replaced a failed wood and steel greenhouse that had been standing on the same site. This restoration system is a maintenance-free aluminum system which is far more thermally-efficient than the previous wood and steel system of the original greenhouse; it also features superior air and water performance. The new greenhouse was designed to maintain the original footprint of the historical greenhouse.
