Head of Executive Suites NJ questions NJ Office of Counter Terrorism's Readiness to Repel a Terror Attack (Updated)

Head of Executive Suites NJ questions New Jersey's Homeland Security Department (the NJ Office of Counter Terrorism) preparedness, indicates more businesses are turning to shared corporate virtual office space for safety reasons.

(PRWEB) September 3, 2004 -- The owner of Executive Suites NJ (http://www.executivesuitesnj.com | 908-276-7755) says economic recovery coupled to the threat of terrorism is driving more businesses to rent shared or virtual office spaces, or mini-offices, than before. Lorin Kislak, owner-operator of Executive Suites (http://www.executivesuitesnj.com), stated on Wednesday: "Frankly, I could do a better job as head of the Department of Homeland Security in New Jersey, than Jim McGreevey, and I'm just a man on the street. The idea McGreevey would put someone illegally on the payroll to head up DHS, his "lover", no less, is a mind boggling revelation. He ought to resign right now."

"Here in NJ we have enormously inviting targets of opportunity for terrorists, including four Refineries and Storage Tank Farms with millions of gallons of gasoline and Jet fuel in them, industrial and nuclear facilities, power companies, beach front, highways, railroads, tunnels, bridges, schools and other such vulnerable targets."

"Everyone can judge by what just happened in Russia, Al Qaeda and Chechen terrorists commandeered a public school killing between 100 and 500 inncocent civilians in battles with Russia's National Guard who tried to storm the school in desperation. The Terrorists took over 400 grade school children ages 5-12 years, 600 parents who were bringing them to their first day at school and 200 Teachers and Administration, all initially held hostage. We're praying for their safety, but hopes are not running very high, with the present tragic news of terrorist bombs bring the school roof down on them, the Russian Troops were forced to storm the school as deadlines were reached: there is news of wholesale slaughter of grade school children by an Al Qaeda controlled Chechen group. It's a horrifying prospect when you consider the number of targets we have here in NJ alone. We could be facing exactly that kind of an attack any time, we can't wait for a John Kerry or a Jim McGreevey to get off their backs and respond AFTER such an attack occurs. By then it's too late."

"The sheer audacity of our state government to miss-spend money provided for Homeland Security, has created an unexpected side-effect. Businesses are renting temporary offices and shared office space at a record pace, and virtual offices allowing workers to stay home, but still maintain a corporate presence. Our mini offices with low cost, high speed internet access are moving like hotcakes!" he added.

"Locally, IBM closed it's huge sales office in Cranford and sent it's people to work from home, I suspect that their long range concerns about possible terror attacks and the economic side effects of terrorism, and the need to be flexible, may have played a role in their decision. I've had quite a number of computer people rent space from me in the past few years, all saying the same thing: It's safer in my shared office space than elsewhere. And many of them can maintain a corporate presence here while working out of the house, for under $150 a month for a virtual office inlcuding answering service and mail, conference room, etc., or $500 and up a month for a full size, full time office."

Executive Suites NJ (http://www.executivesuitesnj.com) is a prime provider of shared office space situated in the city of Cranford, in Union County, NJ. In a large corporate park setting, the facility allows individuals to rent prime office space in small amounts, and provides secretarial services, photocopying, internet access, conference rooms, high speed data access, windowed offices and other accomodations at a very equitable price.

"I've been a tenant for 15 years, and it's extremely convenient and far, far safer than if I took a space in Jersey City all my own," stated John Knight, who operates a personal computer consulting company within Executive Suites, renting two offices. "It's safer for my business, because I do not have to worry about travel on the rails to NYC, I'm 5 minutes from my home, and the security here, provided by a private security company, the Cranford Police and the Union County Police is exceptional. We're a phone call away from the FBI who have offices in and around our county. I would not be in business were it not for the low rent, high level of service provision, and the ability to have customers come and go securely."

Kislak, who has owned Executive Suites NJ (http://www.executivesuitesnj.com) for 6 years, purchased speculatively from a prior owner, indicated that on the balance, despite being only 20 minutes from the World Trade Center site in Manhattan, that virtually all of his tenants have expressed relief at being able to maintain a safe corporate premise without much concern about terrorism due to the exceptional local security.

"There's still the feeling we're a sitting duck here in NJ hanging over every one of us. By and large, however, by providing a secured, safe housing for large businesses or small, and services that eliminate exposure to the possibility of terror attack, I'm providing a valuable service in these difficult times," stated Kislak, a real estate developer from Bergen County, NJ.

"I'm just a man on the street, a small businessman. I'd invite companies throughout the area to find out what I mean. It's safer here. I only wish I could convince NJ DHS to take steps to provide better defenses to the industrial and corporate targets in and around NY and NJ, because an attack here will have an overall bad effect on the regional economy, which is still reeling from the aftershocks of 9/11, and on the entire country. We're safer now than we were in September 2001, but the War against Terrorism still needs time, fortunately President Bush is taking the right steps at the right time."

"I do have to say one thing, though: I can not support a so-called 'anti-war candidate' like John Kerry, 'Mr. Flipflop', who thinks we should not respond to past terrorism with an aggressive and proactive policy. I think he'd be more likely to behave like Jim McGreevey who has clearly taken miss-steps regarding our homeland security in NJ. Look at the carnage over in Russia! This is not going to get better under Kerry, it will get worse, as it did under Clinton."

"We need a decisive President: President Bush, who doesn't roll over on us, not one who thinks we should be showing terrorists 'our more sensitive approach' to responding to past attacks or waiting around until they do attack again. In my business there is and always will be demand for space. However, I am to some degree unhappy that my business is up because of terrorism's threat. Nonetheless, I feel I have to speak out now about it, so that my fellow businessmen and the public realize that while dangers exist, prudent preparedness will go a long way to prevent another 9/11 style tragedy."

"Well intended as the Russians are, today is an example of what happens when you do not deal with the terrorists proactively and when you fail to address it directly, at the source: Bin Laden in Pakistan, Hussein in Iraq'. We've taken out the terrorist trash oppressing Iraq, it's time we gave the President the MANDATE he needs. The Terrorists no longer fear repercussions to terrorism against Russia, so look what happens!"

"Putin was negotiating with Hussein for oil, and see what the results are? We need to trust government to take those proactive steps that are neccessary to insure this country's safety. That public trust is something Jim McGreevey has clearly violated and I am certain John Kerry is dense enough to violate it through 'accomodation' of the terrorists behavior here and overseas, as did Bill Clinton and Hillary. That behavior was LETHAL. I do not believe Kerry has a clear enough picture nor the ability to fully fathom that the War on Terrorism is not about appeasement. If you try to reason with or appease terrorists, they'll simply use the opportunity to get a whole lot closer and then they'll kill you. That's something Kerry doesn't understand, something President Bush has a far better grasp of and which he has taken steps to deal with. You can't send flowers to Bin Laden and Hussein, you have to bring them to justice BEFORE they attack you. That goes for all terrorists."

"You have to take the fight to the terrorists. If you wait for their next round, and ignore the previous dozen or so attacks, it's too late! I don't know what could possibly have led him to his rather absurd approach, but apparently Kerry thinks you wait for the next attack before responding to the previous one. In other words: Kerry believes you don't respond to the past attacks, instead you hide your head in the sand and wait for the fires of Hell to be re-lit by the Terrorists, then you run around trying to put them out. By then, it's way too late. The penalty we pay in manpower losses, as seen in the World Trade Center tragedy, is disasterous. Kerry's 'head in the sand' approach to National Security is an open invitation for Terrorism, Kerry might as well invite the Terrorists to stay at the Watergate and provide them AK47s and explosives with their continental breakfast, and then provide them with chauffeured Humvees to drive to the site of their next attack on us."
