RF production costs can be hugely reduced by the use of this new module design which is available at a fraction of NRE.

The XETI program enables customers to own the design for a tiny percentage of the cost, minimize design risk and purchase modules at a lower price.

The XETI transceiver module design is a compact Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum 900 MHz module which features the lowest power consumption of any comparable transceiver in receive and standby modes. With a full 500mW of output power and a simple serial interface, the XETI module delivers extended range and is easy to use.

Designed with a XEMICS’ TrueRF™ XE1203 transceiver and a Texas Instruments MSP430 uP the module is a highly versatile yet inexpensive transceiver platform. The XETI transceiver can be FCC modular approved with a simple low-cost wire or commercially available antenna.

Offering a high degree of flexibility L.S. Research can customize the XETI module design for each customer’s application. “L.S. Research enables our clients to rapidly develop and put into production their applications with the minimum of risk,” said Pierre Meunier, XEMICS’ VP Sales. “Buying a design license cuts down on development costs and risks considerably for our customers. The additional design services available ensure our customers get the exact design they need.”

L.S. Research offers the XETI transceiver for a one-time license fee of $10k for the hardware and $15k for the software object code. The XETI900 can also be purchased as a complete module at an attractive low price.
