Austin, TX (PRWEB) November 4, 2008 -- FameCast, the premier online competition and community for independent artists, today kicked off its Fall Finals competition. After three months of intense competition, 18 of the world's top up-and-coming artists emerged victorious among a pool of more than 25,000 emerging acts. These Finalists will compete through Nov. 22 for a shot at the grand prize of $20,000, a bio in SPIN Magazine and the title of FameCast Fenom.
Fans can vote for their favorite artist once per day at FameCast.com/Finals (www.famecast.com/finals). The Top 10 will be announced Nov. 8, the Top 5 on Nov. 15 and the Fenom on Nov. 22. The Finalists will advance through each round of competition based on a combination of vote count and Buzz Factor. The Buzz Factor is calculated by FameCast's proprietary media optimization engine, which scans the Web and FameCast sites 24/7 to measure how much each artist's work is viewed, shared, linked to and mentioned worldwide. Artists are assigned a Buzz Factor of 1-100, which rises and falls according to online presence.
The Finalists earned their spot by winning FameCast's August, September and October competitions, held in six musical genres - Rock, Country, Hip Hop, Pop, Latino and Christian. The competing artists, who emerged from a pool of more than 25,000 solo artists and bands, are listed as follows.
