Protocol Translation Made Easy!

The EnNET® Centralized Monitoring and Control (CMC) Server is a software application used to connect disparate building management systems to any centrally managed BACnet/IP operator workstation. The EnNET CMC Server provides robust protocol translation so that legacy building management systems using non-BACnet/IP automation protocols can be managed from a central operators console using BACnet/IP. The EnNET CMC Server can easily translate Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, SNMP, LON, and OPC DA to BACnet/IP.

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) September 13, 2004 -- Gridlogix, Inc., a leading creator of enabling interoperable Web Services technology today announced the release of EnNET® CMC for translating disparate control system protocols into industry standard BACnet/IP. EnNET CMC (Centralized Monitoring and Control) provides robust protocol translation so that legacy building management systems can be managed using any BACnet Operator Workstation. The EnNET CMC Server can easily translate Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, SNMP, LON, OPC DA and many legacy protocols into BACnet/IP. EnNET CMC is a very easy to use and scalable software alternative to other hardware-based protocol translators and gateways on the market.

EnNET CMC is the continuing evolution of IT standards fulfilling the integration needs of the BAS market," says Ron Brown, CTO. Originally EnNET enabled Enterprise Applications to access the valuable real-time data generated by the automation devices that manage the ecosystems of our buildings, campuses and cities. What we discovered was the controls contractors, system integrators and on-site support/maintenance personnel needed the same 'anytime anywhere access to their disparate systems through a common interface just like the IT departments and upper management were demanding. What better way to bring the powerful standard of Web Services to the BAS market than to provide all of its benefits through a BACnet/IP Server."

Hal Gentry, CEO continues by saying, Our customers are reaping huge benefits by leveraging their BACnet investments to manage legacy and remote systems without implementing additional devices such as BBMDs. Our reseller channels are excited to provide integration solutions that are configured and implemented in hours instead of days and require no formal training."

Examples of uses include:

•    Multi-facility enterprises wanting to utilize centralized monitoring and remote control.

•    Enterprises desiring to migrate legacy systems to BACnet/IP and SOAP protocol.

•    Facilities requiring integration with existing or planned BACnet-based building automation systems.

•    Enterprises interested in outsourcing or centralizing information and alarm management.

•    Real-time access to energy usage and control for Enterprise Energy Management

•    Integration of Asset/CMMS/Work Order Management with BAS
