Local MP Praises Safestyle Manufacturing Training Success

Barnsley MP Jeff Ennis has praised Safestyle's training success resulting from their investment in plant and people.

United Kingdom (PRWEB) November 10, 2008 -- Local Barnsley MP Jeff Ennis was on hand this week to present NVQ level 2 Certificates achieved in glass processing to 40 employees and ILM Level 2 Certificates in Team Leading to a further five individuals at Wombwell-based Safestyle Manufacturing and Logistics UK, one of the country's largest independent manufacturers of the PVCu windows (http://www.safestyle-windows.co.uk/windows/) and doors (http://www.safestyle-windows.co.uk/windows/).

The company has benefitted from over £5m of investment in its people and plant over the last five years. Today the factory is double its original size and has the capability to produce more than 6,000 energy efficient window and door frames every week. The site also includes its own specialised glass toughening unit.

Over the last two years, Safestyle Manufacturing has invested substantially in training and development to ensure its employees operate at the highest standards, whilst remaining motivated and in a position to achieve their true potential with the company.

Mark Scaife, Operations Director, explained, "Manufacturing is all about continual improvement and to achieve this we need to invest both in our people and plant. Over the past few years, we have done just that, making the factory more efficient and productive whilst remembering the need to train all our workers. Employees remain our number one asset and we are extremely proud that we now have 160 that are NVQ qualified."

Presenting the successful employees with their certificates and a bottle of champagne, Jeff Ennis MP commented, "I was very impressed with both the workforce and management who are looking to the future in very difficult circumstances, but, I have no doubt whatsoever that they will succeed."
