ATOMIC KID ALERT: A New Superhero Explodes Onto The Scene George Parker's new book "The Atomic Kid-Adventures in the Antiworld" is the story of a high school kid who becomes a superhero and saves the world from oblivion. The book is supported by a six-song CD single featuring pop songs inspired by the story. Burbank, CA (PRWEB) September 21, 2004 -- High school is hell, and lets face it, what kid hasnt dreamed about having super heroic powers to vanquish those who would oppress them. Such is the plot that explodes from the pages of George Parkers exciting and humorous adventure story aimed at the teenager in us all.
In this age of multimedia, The Atomic Kid is out in front, featuring a six-song CD of pop songs inspired by the characters and situations in the book. "Pop songs add an extra dimension to the story," says Parker, "and one form of media drives sales of the other." Parker considers the six- song CD a single, and an album of twelve original songs is in the works.
A recent review by Jamieson Wolf, (LinearReflections.com) states: "The CD is a perfect companion to The Atomic Kid and brings to life John and his trials and tribulations. Written by Parker and arranged by Ted Scarlett, the songs are a reflection of his characters. I cant say enough good things about this CD."
"What Parker has done is essentially written a comic book with words," Wolf continues. "He has created a world, an evil archenemy, a superhero with special powers, a love interest. All the elements of a comic book are here, but written with words instead. It is quite the feat to attempt, but Parker pulls it off with finesse. He has written the legend of a superhero and had done an amazing job.
"This is most likely the best book I have read in a long time. It was fresh, wonderful and exciting. I can hardly wait to read Johns next adventure. In the meantime, Ill just have to read The Atomic Kid all over again. Its that good, folks. If you want a good, fun read, this is your pick."
English born, George Parker is best known for his award winning animation, "The Yellow Submarine Sandwich," included in "The Rutles -- All You Need is Cash," Eric Idles famous film spoof of the Beatles.
