Feature enhancements of Microsoft Commerce Server 2007 include but are not limited to advanced search, enhanced sorting and filtering of products, interactive customer service, online order tracking, product reviews, built-in fraud control, web analytics integration, and enhanced shopping cart/checkout process.
During the Microsoft Commerce Server implementation period, WebMetro included search engine optimization (SEO) (http://www.webmetro.com/seo.htm) development to help Overland maximize website presence in search engine results. Titles, meta keywords and meta descriptions were setup within the database to be easily modified by the Microsoft Commerce Server catalog manager.
Mercado was chosen for its navigation, site search, and merchandising capabilities to quickly connect shoppers with Overland's products. Adobe Scene7 was selected for its dynamic product viewing system, allowing consumers to pan product photos at multiple sizes, zoom in and out on an image, view multiple colors, and also view alternate angles of any given product.
The new Overland website is the result of powerful collaboration between WebMetro and the sheepskin retailer. WebMetro's designers created custom designs to meet Overland's business objectives and ultimately convert browsers into buyers.
