Kwik Fit Insurance Gets Behind Road Safety Week 2008 Leading car insurance intermediary Kwik-Fit Insurance is organising a week of awareness-raising activities for the 950-strong workforce. Glasgow, Lanarkshire (PRWEB) November 13, 2008 -- Kwik Fit Insurance is getting behind Road Safety Week 2008 in more ways than one. As well as being a headline sponsor for the event, the leading car insurance (http://www.kwik-fitinsurance.com) intermediary is organising a week of awareness-raising activities for the 950-strong workforce at the company's Lanarkshire base.
The week will include a 'Speed Aware' initiative where a speed-monitoring sign will be placed on the main access road into the business park which Kwik Fit Insurance is based. There are concerns about the speed of traffic using the road by staff and visitors of over 20 companies based at the Tannochside Business Park, and Kwik Fit Insurance hope to lead the way in the campaign to educate everyone using the road of the dangers. A 'Back to School' day will also take place; where managers, directors and nominated team members will be put through their paces with mock driving tests from Happy Hour School of Motoring. An 'Alcohol Aware' day will see staff attempting remote-control car challenges while wearing 'beer goggles' to highlight the dangers of drink and drug driving. Kwik Fit Insurance (http://www.kwik-fitinsurance.com) will also be organising a 'Beep Beep Day' at their on-site 'Little Fitters' nursery to educate youngsters on road safety. In addition, all staff will be encouraged to take part in a 'Brake Bright Day' - donning luminous and high-vis clothing to add a fun, visual impact to the week's road safety message.
Kwik Fit Insurance's intraserver and internal screens will be featuring a host of Road Safety Week material all week, from case studies to informative DVDs.
Bert Main, Business Development Director for Kwik Fit Insurance, said: "This year we have launched a number of road safety campaigns including our Lollipop Person of the Year Awards (details at www.bestlollipop.co.uk) and a driving proficiency programme for secondary schools, so we are extremely pleased to be supporting Brake's Road Safety Week for which details can be accessed at www.roadsafetyweek.org.uk.
"We are very keen to encourage our staff, customers and the wider public to be more aware of road safety - whether they are a school child, a learner driver or a seasoned road user. This link with Road Safety Week, and Brake, underlines our commitment to getting the road safety message across and we look forward to supporting the initiative as much as possible and making this year's event a huge success."
