DoD Contractor UID White Paper Released A2B Tracking Solutions has released a new white paper, "A Guide For DoD Contractors Who Must Report Government Furnished Property to The Department of Defense." The paper helps to demystify the mandatory UID marking and labeling process. Portsmouth, RI (PRWEB) September 24, 2004 -- A2B Tracking Solutions Inc. is releasing a white paper, A Guide For DoD Contractors Who Must Report Government Furnished Property to The Department of Defense" during the National Property Management Association Conference in Reno, NV this week. The document, which is available for downloading at www.a2btracking.com/m/_general/uid.asp was compiled by company researchers who have carefully monitored the standards adoption process for the federal governments unique identification (UID) initiative.
Compliance with the complex UID standards is of paramount concern to all DoD contractors because it is required in order to do business with the DoD. The A2B white paper addresses the dilemma that all contractors with government furnished property face due to the January 1, 2005 deadline for marking, the marking options available and the need to harvest data and report it to the governments wide area workflow database (WAWF) and UID registry. The white paper also suggests a solution to the dilemma, namely decoding software residing on a handheld computer that concatenates data structures and prompts users for further actions.
As if January 1, 2004 UID marking and reporting is mandatory for all DoD solicitations issued after that date. It is mandatory for all existing government furnished property after January 1, 2005.
