Scott Borland Joins Capnia as Vice President of Engineering Capnia, a private company developing novel therapeutic products using its proprietary medical gas delivery system, announces the hiring of Scott Borland as Vice President of Engineering. Los Gatos, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2004, : Scott Borland has joined Capnia's executive management team as Vice President of Engineering. Mr. Borland is responsible for directing the company's drug delivery development as well as device engineering and manufacturing.
Scott brings more than ten years of technology development, product development, and process engineering experience to Capnia. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Director, Engineering and Operations at Aerogen, Inc., where he was responsible for design engineering and manufacturing of core technology components and products for aerosol-based pulmonary drug delivery products. In addition, he was instrumental in regulatory activities and manufacturing scale-up of both clinical and commercially marketed products. Scott has held several positions in the medical device, drug delivery, and computer hardware industries with Therics, Inc., Topaz Technologies, and Applied Magnetics and was a Visiting Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Scott holds an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Arizona.
