Share Your Story of "Paying it Forward" on World Wide Webcast This Tuesday Online event designed to raise funds and awareness for the Pay It Forward Foundation. To participate, call in or listen between noon and midnight on Tuesday, November 18, 2008. Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) November 15, 2008 -- The Pay It Forward Foundation (http://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/) and Catherine Ryan Hyde, foundation founder and author of the book "Pay It Forward," will hold the first annual Pay It Forward World-Wide Webcast on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from noon to midnight CDT. The live event will be at www.pifwebcast.com.
People from around the world are invited to participate by sharing and listening to stories of people who have "paid it forward." This all-day online event will raise funds and awareness for the Pay It Forward Foundation. The webcast will feature live entertainment and call-ins from celebrities and others who have been impacted by the Pay It Forward movement.
"Thousands of participants are expected to share their Pay It Forward stories online with the goal of helping to raise funds to produce 1 million Pay It Forward bracelets. The impact of this concept and bracelet, which is simply to remind people to help others by doing random acts of kindness, has been felt by millions," said SnugZ USA Vice President Charley Johnson.
Pay It Forward wristbands (http://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/wristbands.html) were created by SnugZ USA President/CEO Brandon Mackay and Johnson. SnugZ USA, a promotional products industry supplier, produces them at no charge for the Pay It Forward Foundation. The bracelets are distributed to anyone who wants them, at no cost whatsoever (SnugZ even covers the shipping). The foundation distributes the bracelets at trade shows and online.
"The concept of the bracelet is very simple. When someone receives a thank you for helping someone out, they remove the bracelet, hand it to that person and encourage them to wear the bracelet and do something for someone else or…pay-it-forward," says Johnson, who is now a board member of the Pay It Forward Foundation.
"The pay-it-forward concept can make a difference in the real world, and the Pay It Forward promotional bracelet is the tool for creating social change," Johnson continued. "We want to change the world like no one has ever seen before or ever thought possible. There are simply too many people in the world right now who are begging for change. This event is a perfect opportunity to share awesome stories and help keep the momentum going to help the people you pass by every day become better."
Today, SnugZ has produced and distributed over 350,000 bracelets free of charge to classrooms, schools, businesses, and individuals all over the world. The bracelets have been shipped to over 50 countries in six out of the seven continents. Based on the stories posted daily on the Pay It Forward blog, Johnson estimates that the bracelets are in over 100 countries since people pass them along -- or pay it forward.
