Monkey Kingdom Productions To Host Entertainment Industry Fundraiser for film BARSTOW and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

(PRWEB) September 28, 2004 -- As independent film production company Monkey Kingdom Productions heads into production on their first feature film BARSTOW, they are hosting a huge industry fundraiser to raise awareness of their new company and the film.

The Footloose and Fancy Free Filmmaking Fundraiser, leave your shoes at the door, literally" is scheduled for Saturday October 9th at Le Studio" in Santa Monica, CA. The fundraiser will boast exciting activities from hoop dancers, DJ Sammy Bliss, a live auctioneer and poi spinners to dance floor, food and Pyramid Beer (Hefeweizen) sponsored bar.

Le Studio," a space run by former Cirque de Soleil perfomers, has generously added its name to the prominent list of sponsors for the event. Final Draft, Pyramid Beers, Thomas Kemper Sodas, Louises Trattoria, Mika Sushi and Taboo Gardens top the list, not to mention fun raffle and auction prizes ranging from scuba certification to a Jim Carrey autographed LIAR LIAR script.

Staying true to the home-town feel of this new production company, co-founders Yuri Lowenthal and Tara Platt want to give back to their community and their personal charity, breast cancer research. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be given directly to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, the same charity that hosts the Breast Cancer 3-Day, an event both Tara and Yuri walked a combined 120 miles for last year.

Doors open at 9pm and the party lasts until 1am. Plan to kick off your shoes off and dance, mingle with other industry guests, enjoy food, drinks and entertainment and have a rockin good time. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.

Principal photography on the film will begin later this year on location in Barstow, CA.
