Berkeley BX2 Controller Achieves Radiation Certification

BX2 Controller Meets Stringent Requirement of Medical Equipment

RICHMOND, CA (PRWEB) September 29, 2004 -- Berkeley Process Control, Inc. of Richmond, California announced today that its BX2 motion and machine controller successfully passed stringent radiation testing requirements of a major medical equipment manufacturer. The controller was exposed to 16,000 rads of x-ray/gamma radiation, simulating several years of exposure, under conditions similar to those around medical radiotherapy equipment. Additional testing with neutron sources has confirmed that the BX2 controller has an extraordinarily high-tolerance to radioactive environments.

Successful radiation testing is another measure of the durability and flexibility of the BX2 controller for diverse environments spanning medical equipment and other industries," according to Lenson Wong, Director of Marketing. The BX2 controller provides the leading motion control technology with the reliability required for production equipment environments."

The BX2 is a highly integrated hardware and software platform providing motion and I/O control of complex automated systems. The BX2 provides direct, single cable connections to high performance brushless servo motors. Built-in advanced software provide comprehensive and intuitive system diagnostic utilities. Features such as Autocalibration"R" technology greatly reduce the effort to development, install and maintain complex systems.

Berkeley Process Control, Inc. is a leading provider of flexible automation solutions to the semiconductor, medical equipment, optical fiber and other industries. Berkeley capabilities include multi-disciplinary engineering expertise to deliver motion, process and turn-key machine solutions.
