African Hand Drums to Promote Movie, The Visitor, to Be Provided by World Wide Drums, LLC World Wide Drums, LLC was selected by Overture Films to supply more than 1100 djembe African hand drums to be used to publicize the movie, The Visitor. World Wide Drums was selected by Overture because of its reputation as a distributor of quality African drums and its ability to provide the large quantity of handmade djembe drums required within a relatively short period of time. BURNSVILLE, Minn. (Business Wire EON) November 17, 2008 -- "We have strong relationships with excellent craftspeople around the world. In the movie, The Visitor, music plays an important role. Two of the main characters connect over a djembe drum. The djembe drum, pronounced jembe, is a goblet shaped hand drum that is a popular African percussion instrument. African drumming is gaining in popularity in school curriculums, drum circles and healing institutions.
"World Wide Drums, LLC provided the finely crafted djembe drums that we will be sending out to various people in the movie industry as we promote the film," said a spokesperson for Overture Films.
