Amicus selects EMC's SEC Compliant Online Storage Solution

Amicus, Inc., the leading application service provider (ASP) of compliance technology solutions to broker dealers and investment advisors, announced today the selection of EMC's Centera content addressed storage (CAS) technology. In addition to delivering enhanced support for the Amicus® Email Monitor (98-11) product, the EMC solution will also support Amicus' back-up and designated third party (D3P) offsite storage offerings.

Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 1, 2004 -- Amicus, Inc., the leading application service provider (ASP) of compliance technology solutions to broker dealers and investment advisors, announced today the selection of EMC's Centera content addressed storage (CAS) technology.

"As Amicus' email monitoring and archiving service has gained momentum in the marketplace, we saw the need for a storage solution that could handle our explosive growth with a fully online SEC compliant solution," said Marshall Huwe, CEO, Amicus, Inc. "The EMC Centera Compliance Edition allows us to provide clients with online access to archived records including stored email messages and their related compliance history - compliance lexicon tests, complete reviewer history, and supervisory actions taken."

In addition to delivering enhanced support for the Amicus® Email Monitor (98-11) product, the EMC solution will also support Amicus' back-up and designated third party (D3P) offsite storage offerings. "The increased focus on compliance technology issues by the SEC and NASD has resulted in a dramatic increase in the number of broker dealers and investment advisors looking for a compliance technology partner like Amicus with deep industry experience. Since 1996, Amicus has been tapping the power of browser based compliance solutions for the securities industry using the ASP model to reduce total cost of ownership and speed implementations while providing clients with access to world class technology solutions."

Amicus® Email Monitor has grown in popularity over the past few months due in part to the SEC's recent amendments to the Investment Advisors Act of 1940 which go into effect October 5, 2004 and rapid implementation timelines associated with the ASP business model.
