£1.2m facelift for Wombwell's Safestyle Manufacturing Safestyle Manufacturing and Logistics UK, formerly Windowstyle and one of the UK's leading manufacturing companies in the replacement window and door industry has completed a massive £1.2 million re-development of its Wombwell plant. Wombwell, United Kingdom (PRWEB) November 18, 2008 Safestyle Manufacturing and Logistics UK, formerly Windowstyle and one of the UK's leading manufacturing companies in the replacement window and door industry has completed a massive £1.2 million re-development of its Wombwell plant. The fourteen month project has witnessed the introduction of a new BJM Machining and Cutting Centre, seven different sized automated welders and a new bespoke software package enabling the whole production process to be 100% more efficient. The operation is the manufacturing arm of Safestyle UK, the country's largest independent retailer of energy efficient PVCu windows and doors. It remains the local area's largest single employer at Wombwell, near Barnsley. The new generation of machines installed at the Wombwell factory provide additional automation on the production line, critically increasing overall efficiency, quality control and accuracy, which is essential in today's tough and competitive economic climate. The new leaner operation will enable production times for doors and windows to be slashed as Safestyle's Chief Executive, John Ross explained, "With over 4000 doors and windows produced every week we need to be as efficient as possible. The new machinery will enable us to produce a full door unit every eight minutes - twice as quick as before." Expanding on the need for investment, Mr Ross added, "We are acutely aware these are difficult times and that we are in a competitive market but we have always maintained a continuous and impressive programme of hi-tech developments at our Wombwell factory. The factory has more than doubled in size in recent years and this latest investment together with our popular celebrity-led marketing programme through the Safestyle name will ensure we keep ahead of our competitors." "Although our people remain our number one asset, this investment reflects our determination to protect the company and its workforce in Wombwell," Ross continued. About Safestyle:
